Feeding Guide Overview

These are the recommended feeding amounts based on the ideal body condition for puppy dogs of various weights. Individual dog's energy requirements may differ. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Miss Beautiful In December we adopted a 12 month old German Shepherd from a GS Rescue in our state. It was like adopting a child. There were so many criteria to , pass references to get etc.. Finally , we got to pick her up. The lady that runs the rescue told us that all she uses is Nutro Large Breed Puppy. She had 15 German Shepherds at the time and feeds all the dogs Nutro. Our Bella is absolutely beautiful, and has a gorgeous coat. She grew two inches in heigh in the first 2 months we had her. She has so much endurance and energy. She runs in our pasture and I mean RUNS for an hour twice a day. We would never think of changing her food. She is perfect in every way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! Love! Love! We have a 16 month old Dogue De Bordeaux, who has extreme allergies. We have tried so many limited ingredient, organic, and even a RAW diet with no success. She was underweight, lethargic and had diarrhea and vomiting nearly daily and even got to the point she wouldn't eat. With recommendations from out vet we found Nutro. She has stopped getting sick, put on much needed weight, and it is so obvious she is thriving from this food. Our vet has suggested we keep her on it until 24 months and then switch to adult formula. Mastiffs, by nature, generally have allergy issues with food and this was truly the answer to our prayers for our poor sickly girl!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Boxer puppy doesn't like it For some dogs, I'm sure this is great, but our boxer puppy does not eat it very well. Most of the time she will leave a huge portion unless we add a little warm water. She is 7 months old. Her stools are not formed very well at all and they smell awful. We previously had her on the chicken and oatmeal large breed puppy, and it did the same thing. We have brought her to the vet several times and she is healthy seemingly. I'm not sure what our next move will be. She obviously isn't a fan. Every dog is different and I'm sure it is great for some, but sadly it isn't working for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just switched My dog, Lilly, is VERY picky when it comes to food, I have been feeding her the same food since she was born,. I went to the pet store one day to pick up some food and inatvertently picked up regular size kibbles, she usually eats small bites. Well, she wouldn't eat it. So this time when I went to pick up some food, and they didn't have the size bag I normally get, the store manager convinced me to get Natural Choice, even after I told him how PICKY Lilly is. I brought it home, and she loves it!! I will continue to buy Natrual Choice from now on. I really like the fact that I know she is getting wholesome ingrediants and it is made here in the USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great food for large puppy bones. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used Natural Choice on our last two dogs so when our son adopted/saved an Anatolian Sheppard Puppy in Afghanistan I thought we should stay with the brand we used on our other dogs. Dog food from the U.S. isn't available over there so we buy the largest bag of Large Breed Puppy food, fill three flat rate boxes and ship them to him every few weeks. He plans on bringing Bella home with him when he returns next fall and wants to stay with the same brand of dog food that she has been raised on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dog food! When we adopted our German Shepard Husky mix he was 8 weeks old and I started feeding him Nature's Recipe at the recommendation of a family member. He had diarrhea on and off for several weeks so I tried Blue Buffalo and his diarrhea was better but he was still very gassy (and it was bad!!!). I don't know for sure but the common main ingredient was chicken and I found that almost all large breed puppy food was chicken. When I found this one was lamb I went and got a bag to try it and I couldn't be happier. He almost never has diarrhea anymore and though he still had gas it is not as often or as unbearable! He is now 1 and has been eating Nutro for about 6 months now and I will definitely keep him on this food as an adult dog.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coco and DIllon are thriving! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Last September we brought home 2 lab puppies similar in size. Now 8 months old, one is near 90 pounds and the other hovers in the 60s. We have an outdoorsy family and take the pups with us to run along on fitness runs, hiking and ski trips. It isn't easy to find large breed puppy food that truly delivers what it promises nutritionally. We tried some other brands and kept running into digestive problems and/or turned up noses. Nutro Large Breed Puppy food solved those problems and is enabling both pups to grow and grow and grow....and most importantly, thrive. Thanks for the great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bernese Mountain Dog Puppy -Issues Resolved My 20 week old puppy was struggling to gain as much weight as Id like, coming in 5-10 pounds under expected weight for a BMD each vet visit and we had constant issues with vomitting and diahhrea. A lot of money was wasted on everything from thinking our pet got into advantix and got sick, testing fecal samples, and disease screenings which went on for weeks before our pet store stopped carrying the brand we were feeding our dog. After much contemplation and research we chose Nutro and all of our problems resolved in one day. Dog is gaining weight and we have solid droppings. I'd love if we can get growth back on track and break 100 lbs!
